Bondi Wastewater Treatment Plant

With a budget of $1.5 million, Thompson Controls was engaged by Sydney Water as a contractor as part of the SMART team for this project.

With the generators and associated feed panels being integral to the continued operation of the facility, this upgrade project was awarded following a detailed investigation identifying the overall condition of the existing panels had deteriorated and did not meet current safety standards.

The role of Thompson Controls in the project includes:

  • Supply and install new generator distribution panels
  • Investigate and identify faults with existing generator instrumentation
  • Repair and replace faulty generator instrumentation as required
  • Supply and install a new generator control system and battery charger system
  • Integrate generator/charger control system with the wider plant SCADA system.
  • Supply and install cabling
  • Replace cable tray and all cabling from control panel to auxiliary generator management equipment
  • Replace all existing earth conductors
  • Replace all existing generator feed cabling
  • Construct and install a permanent mobile generator connection point.
